Robert Delikat, Paramedic
While on a four year tour in the US Marine Corps, Robert attended Navy Corpsman training at MCRD and Balboa Hospital in 1962. He graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in biology and later did graduate research there in cellular physiology as well as at the UCSD Medical School on the mechanisms of shock. Robert
is a nationally registered paramedic, has been an instructor in PHTLS and AMLS, training officer and primary paramedic instructor on the faculty of the Northwest Regional Training Center. He has served as regional faculty with the AHA in PALS and ACLS and regularly teaches continuing education at OHSU, Western Oregon University
and many hospitals and fire departments around the Northwest particularly on the subjects of capnography, 12-lead ECG interpretation and pediatric life support. 
Kara Kohfield, Paramedic
Kara is the EMS Manager at Blue Mountain Hospital in John Day, Oregon   
Emily Kosderka, MS, ACT
Emily is in her 13th year as the head of Concordia University’s athletic training department. A Northwest native, Emily grew up on Whidbey Island, just north of Seattle, and attended Willamette University from 1992-1996. She played basketball for the Bearcats for two seasons before immersing herself in the exercise science program where she discovered athletic training. After finishing her undergraduate degree, Kosderka attended Indiana University where she earned a Master of Kinesiology degree in 1998. Upon graduation from Indiana, Kosderka accepted a position as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Lewis & Clark College. Following a three-year stint in that position, she accepted the top position at Concordia as Head Athletic Trainer. Emily has been a presenter at this conference for the past 3 years. 
Gary McLean, RN, Paramedic
Starting his EMS career in Cheyenne, Wyoming(1974), Gary moved back to Portland and graduated from OHSU’s first Paramedic course in 1978. His EMS work experience includes private/profit, private/non-profit, hospital based, industrial, and international EMS and ambulance services, EMS text reviewer, movie set medic, and EMS consultant to several television shows, attorneys and now the national Epilepsy Foundation. His transport experience includes ground, fixed-wing, rotor-wing and water-based EMS transportation, from busy urban EMS systems to remote wilderness experience in Alaska. Obtaining his RN license in 1994, he worked as an ER-CEN for 5 years in Portland. As a Paramedic/RN/Firefighter, hired by Sandy Fire, he oversaw their EMS and Occupational Health program for 12 years. Professionally and politically active, Gary has served on various county EMSboards, the OMB’s EMT Advisory Committee, and several CDC committees. He currently serves as President of the Oregon EMS Association and sits on several NAEMT Committees. He looks forward to retirement in 2014
Mark Stevens , BA, Paramedic
Mark has over 30 years in the EMS business. He has worked as a responder in both rural and urban
environments. Educating EMS responders in what really matters is his passion. He currently serves as
a Division Chief for Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue. His life is fulfilling with a wife of 34 years, their six
children and a dog named Crash.
Eric Swanson , Paramedic
Eric Swanson is a Nationally Registered, and Oregon Certified Paramedic.  He is the past the Director for EMS, Clinical Laboratory, and Diagnostic Imaging for Adventist Health - Tillamook Hospital, a Critical Access Hospital. In addition to 29 years of experience in EMS, he has served in Law Enforcement for 24 years and is the Commander of the Reserve Unit for the Tillamook County Sheriff's Office.  He served as the Chair of Oregon's Task Force on EMT Safety and h survived three armed encounters.  He will complete his MBA in July and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
